The men’s wrestling program’s season concluded at the NCAA Region Seven meet, with just two of the ten competitors from Augie making it to the second day of matches. 

On Friday, Feb. 27, juniors Jack Miller and Braiden Young, as well as senior Jack Reina, claimed victories in their first matches, with Young going on to close out Friday with a second win to claim a guaranteed top-ten finish. Both Miller and Reina would lose in their second matches, with Reina falling out of the tournament following a second loss and Miller advancing to the next day of competition following a win. 

On Saturday, Feb. 28, both wrestlers would lose their first match, putting their season at risk. Another loss would knock them out of the top three, barring them from competing at Nationals. Unfortunately for the Vikings, Miller would be unable to claim victory in his next attempt, closing out his senior season just short of the national meet. 

Young would spark some life in the Vikings’ hopes, winning his penultimate matchup to set up a contest with fellow junior Ian Pepple of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the third-place match, with the winner continuing their season at nationals and the loser being forced to go back to the drawing board.Pepple won 20-4, ending Young and the Vikings’ 2025-26 season. Augustana finished the tournament in 13th out of 15 teams. The Vikings close out the season with a 4-9 record, their lowest win percentage (.308) since the 2019-20 season.
