Student workers receive increase in hourly pay

On Oct.17, Kirk Anderson, Augustana’s chief financial officer and vice president of administration sent an email to the student body informing them of a wage increase for on-campus jobs. The increase is fifty cents, bringing the wage from $9.25 to $9.75 an hour.

According to the email from Anderson, this increase comes after a follow-up meeting from the Board of Trustees, who approved the wage increase on Oct.14-Oct.15. The increase will take effect on Oct. 31, and on-campus student workers will see the increase reflected in their pay in the Nov. 25 paycheck.

Young Democratic Socialists of America, (YDSA), is a student group on campus that promotes democratic views and conversations between students. They met with President Talentino recently to discuss the increase in student wages.
