Our journey to Salem, Va., began with an early wake up (5 a.m.); but it was well worth it to see the tremendous support from the Augustana Community as they sent us off with charismatic cheers and shining smiles.
As we stepped onto the bus, we could feel the energy and excitement on campus before the sun came up. We look forward to feeding off of that energy as we embark on our journey to the Final Four.
In a few hours we will practice at Hinkle Fieldhouse on the campus of Butler University. Hinkle is one of the most renowned college basketball venues in the entire nation, and was even featured in the classic sports film Hoosiers.
This is a written account by Augustana junior guard and multimedia journalism major Jake Norcia as he takes us with Augustana basketball on their journey to Salem, Virginia, the site of the Division III Men’s Final Four.
