Kaycee weighs-in on transferring to Augie

The Observer sat down with Kaycee Kallenberger, one of the newest additions as a junior transfer to women’s basketball.
1. What’s it like coming in as a junior transfer?
“It’s different because I’ve had to adjust to the coaching staff but fun because I’ve gotten to know my teammates.”
2. Why did you choose Augie’s basketball team over other collegiate programs?
“I really liked the coaching staff compared to other schools because they made me feel at home.”
3. Which upcoming opponent is the team excited to play most and why?
“I’m not sure what opponent we are most excited to play but I think everyone is most excited to get into our conference games to show other teams that we aren’t the same team we have been in past years.”
4. Who do you look up to most on the team and why?
“I look up to Coach Beinborn the most because he’s shown more confidence in me than any coach I’ve ever had. He pushes everyone on the team to be the best players and people they can be.”
5. What’s your favorite part about being a part of Augie basketball?
“Getting to spend everyday with my teammates because they have become my best friends.”
6. What kinds of goals has the team set for itself this year?
“To win every game we can.  To win conference and make the NCAA D III tournament.”
7. What goals have you set for yourself individually?
“To have fun on the court and continue to learn how to play with my new teammates.”
8. If you had to describe your team in one word, what would it be and why?
“Relentless because we are all working hard everyday to make our season goals come true.”
9. How do you hope to make an impact as a newcomer?
“I hope to make an impact on the team through hard work.”
10. What’s one thing campus might not know about the team?
“That we love and appreciate when the campus community comes to our games to support us.”
