Men's basketball wins at Illinois Wesleyan

The first time the two teams met Illinois Wesleyan University stole a win from the Vikings at the Carver Center with a score of 89-84 on Jan. 21. This loss was the Vikings’ first in a 10 game winning streak.
Coach Giovanine’s squad took back a win against Illinois Wesleyan last night with a score of 82-56 in Bloomington.
Playing defense well was a key component in the Vikings’ win. Augustana only allowed the titans to make 34 percent of their shots. They took care of the ball offensively with five players shooting in double digits. Senior Danielius Jurgutis and junior Tayvian Johnson each scored eight points. And, junior Griffin Pils scored five pints with eight rebounds.
The Vikings will play their last home game this Saturday against Millikin, which is also senior night. The team will be graduating five seniors.
After playing Millikin, the Vikings will play their last game away at Wheaton on Feb 21., with the CCIW tournament starting on Feb 27.
