A vigil was held by the fireplace inside the Gerber Center on Tuesday morning. The vigil was held to remember all the lives that were lost and all the lives that have been put in harm’s way over the past few days in Paris, France, Beirut and Lebanon.
Pastor Kristen Glass Perez and Pastor Richard Priggie lead the vigil that brought together students, faculty, and community members. Time was spent reflecting on the events that happened, praying for those who were affected and standing together in unity.
“It is a good idea to hold a vigil because people nee to be more aware of what has been happening around the world,” said Adiba Hasan. “As a Muslim, I feel like something like this is very needed because it brings awareness to campus that this can anywhere.”
First-year Camille Harris said the vigil was a good way to remember and reflect on all the events.
“It feels nice to be able to stand with my community and to be able to understand the hardship that has happened,” said Camille Harris.
