Augustana College is introducing the Check I’m Here app for student organizations to help them market their clubs to the student body.
On Monday and Tuesday of week eight, student organization leaders attended a meeting in Hanson to learn more about the Check I’m Here app. The app is a database that should allow organizations on campus to keep their groups structured and look appealing to the student body.Clubs on campus will post information about upcoming events, important dates, and other significant details for interested students.
The Check I’m Here app is available now and is in the process of being taught to student groups.
“Augie is introducing it so that student groups can take advantage of it towards marketing events, keeping logistics of events, outreach to non members and also organization for the groups utilizing it,” senior Marvin Agyeben said.
Agyeben said Kenneth Brill, associate dean and director office of student life and leadership, and Katey Bignall, director of Greek Life introduced the app to Augustana.
Ethan Higginbotham, a junior and the president of the Augustana Philosophy Club, set up the club’s page on the app last week. He’s interested to see how it affects smaller clubs like his.
“I think it’ll help us t let more people know about our club and when we have meeting and events,” Higginbotham said.
