While I’m not a fan of chain restaurants, this regional gem has won over my tastebuds. Barrel House 211 Restaurant & Bar serves high quality burgers and other bar food fare. Not only does each location have its own individual “personality,” Barrel House provides excellent service no matter which branch you choose. With locations in Davenport and Moline, it’s easily accessible.
The prices are a little steeper than your typical bar grub, but worth the expense. I splurged on a Cowboy Burger, which is a staple in my typical burger diet. While I’ve tasted variations of this burger at other restaurants, ranging from Red Robin to smaller locally owned burger joints in the Southwest, Barrel House has by far some of the best burgers.
The patties are large, the burgers are juicy, and the toppings are fresh. There’s nothing more I could ask for. The side options were typical with a variety of french fries to choose from.
They have sweet potato, beer battered, homemade chips and a myriad of other things, each worth at least one taste.
The range of options on the menu was a little overwhelming. From Tex Mex to bar classics to specialty salads, Barrel House had it all. If you’re 21 and over, there’s a large range of drinks available as well.
Cocktails and plenty of local brews serve as a perfect complement to the food served. While it’s not necessarily generous to your conversation, it’s definitely generous to your stomach.
The service was quick and the restaurant was bustling, which kept my energy levels high after an exhausting day. Whether you’re looking to catch the next sports game or go out with a few friends, Barrel House proves to be a great option.
