The Vikings continued their winning streak by defeating The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at the Warhawks’ own court.
The Vikings, who won 75-55, were led in points Griffin Pils and Ben Ryan. They both scored 18 points.
After the first half of the game, the Vikings were down 29-28, but came out strong in the second half. They scored 47 points to the Warhawks 26.
According to the NCAA Division III rankings, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater was ranked 23rd in the nation and second in the Central Region, which is where the Vikings are ranked first.
After last night’s win, head coach Grey Giovanine tied with Jim Borcherding for the most coaching victories in school history.
Giovanine moved to 314-121 in his 17th season at the Viking head coach.
Giovanine might be able to add another win to that record during Saturday’s home game. The Vikings will be having the rematch of last year’s NCAA Division III championship game as the University of Wisconsin-Steven’s Point, last year’s NCAA Division III Basketball champions.
The game will start at 7 p.m. in the Carver Center.
The game is expected to be a full house so the Ken Anderson Center will be hosting a “viewing party” where people can watch the game.
