Senior, and captain, Tanner Osing completed his cross country career as a Viking on a high note on November, 19th in Louisville, Kentucky. Osing came in at 42nd place at the NCAA Division III National Men’s Cross Country Championships.
Osing recorded a time of 25:10.5 in the 8,000-meter course at “Tom” Sawyer State Park. His time was just 5.6 seconds away from receiving All-American honors. Osing has been a leader of the cross country team this season by finishing as the top Augustana runner in six meeting throughout the regular season.
Leading up to the NCAA DIII Championships, Osing landed a 7th place finish at the CCIW Championships, in which Augustana placed 2nd overall, as well as an 8th place individual and team finish at the Midwest Regionals. Augustana did not qualify for a team finish at the NCAA DIII Championships due to Osing being the only Viking representative.
Osing is a Public Health major and looks to graduate at the end of this school year after finishing his final cross country season. The next men’s cross country meet will begin near the start of the next academic year.
