The men’s basketball team found the rematch they were looking for after defeating Elmhurst 97-84. Elmhurst is the only team to have beaten the Vikings this season so far.
The first half of the game started in a duel, both teams battling back and forth and ending in a draw.
As the second half started, the teams resumed their duel until the Vikings were able to increase their lead five minutes into the second half.
The team was led in points by both senior Ben Ryan, who had 18 points and six rebounds, and senior Jawan Straughter, who had 16 points. Other players in the double digits were senior Hunter Hill, 14, senior Brandon Motzel, 14, senior Tayvian Johnson, 14, senior Grifin Pils, 11, and freshman Crishawn Orange, 10.
The Vikings are now 18-1 and will play again at 7 p.m. this Saturday against North Park.
