The Student Government Association (SGA) released the budget allocations for all the student groups who requested funds for SGA for the 2015-2016 academic year on Wednesday.
The list, which can be found on SGA’s webpage, details the amount awarded to 93 student groups on campus, with a total of $57,630 allocated to student groups.
SGA President David Sommers said that to the best of his knowledge, the list includes all the groups that SGA funds.
“It’s student’s money, and students should be able to view it,” said Sommers. “It’s something we should have done earlier, meaning in year’s past.”
The largest amount of funds given to any group was awarded to the Multicultural Programming Board (MPB), one of the branches of the Office of Student Life and Leadership (OSL). MPB received $11,500 from SGA for the 2015-16 academic year. However, the Student Life Programming Board’s and Greek Council’s budgets are not listed. Sommers said the college decides which groups SGA will be awarding money to, including the OSL.
